Foodbank still open!

31st March 2020

If you are in poverty and need help from the foodbank, please contact:
● Advice Space Andersonstown (0300 123 3233),
● Upper Andersonstown Community Forum (028 9062 2201),
● Footprints Women’s Centre (028 9092 3444),
● Colin Neighbourhood Partnership (028 9062 3813),
● The Family Support Hub in Andersonstown (028 9030 1521), and many other organisations who are signed up with us.
● Or ring Edel Diamond at the foodbank on 07938706552.

We are still open to give out food at the foodbank.
Even though the building is closed to the public, please come to the main door as normal and someone will help you there.

Foodbank opening times:
● Tuesdays 1:00pm to 2:30pm
● Thursdays 10:45am to 12:15 pm

If you cannot come to the foodbank yourself, we have a team of delivery drivers who can deliver food to you instead.
Just let the referral organisation you contact know that you need a delivery.

Food donations
Food donations can be left ideally during foodbank opening times. But they can also be left with security staff Mon-Fri 9am-3:30pm. Please go to the door to the rear car park to deliver donations.

Not in food poverty?
If you are able to afford food, but cannot get out to buy it, and cannot obtain it through local shops or online shopping etc., consider contacting the free Covid-19 Community helpline on 0808 802 0020. This operates seven days a week, from 9am to 5pm. The email address is [email protected] or text ACTION to 81025. This is for people who have been formally notified to self-isolate by their GPs but who cannot afford food and have no links to community networks. Other vulnerable people who are not “shielding” but are in critical need of supplies will also receive the boxes. Donated by local food companies, the packages will be distributed by volunteers from different community organisations. This is a much needed and very much welcomed addition to the work of foodbanks which, although they are much busier than before, are not able to cope with the massive scale of the food distribution need which is expected in the community.
